I might be getting a laptop soon!
Thing is, I'm rather savvy on old technology- but, not so much on the new. I'm a n00b as far as new computers are concerned.
So. Folks. Help me out here. What should I look for?
I already have a vague idea. Well, here's what I'm gonna need for school:
1. Must be Art Friendly- something I can do art on. (Must hold art programs: Adobe, photoshop, etc!) For this reason, I know macs are VERY good but... I'll be honest. I don't like them very much. I'm used to PC's. I wish there was like a combo of mac and PC.
2. Reasonable size- something I can carry around campus and not get weighed down.
I've done some browsing and I can't seem to find a laptop that doesn't have Windows Vista on it- I'm not complaining about it, but I have heard a lot of people don't like Windows Vista. Maybe because they're used to Windos XP? I think I could live with it as long as it's art friendly- and from what I've seen so far it seems to be. (Well, it's very mac-esque) Still, I like Windos XP- I'm used to it, but it isn't very art friendly for me. :/
Again, I'm a n00b to new computers. But some features I like thus far on the laptops I've looked at are the ability to play and write DVDs and CDs :3 Yee. I like this because-- I wanna make AMV's. I've had dreams of them dacing in my head and I wanna make them and get them outta my system. XD Been wanting to since high school! No joke! So- as far as AMV's go- what programs should I look for? Would they already come with the laptop? Another feature I've seen is wireless internet.... though that's sorta a new concept to me too. Man, I feel old. o.0 Whatelse... Ah, some also come with a built in webcam and mic, but, I really don't care for either. I have a mic, and I don't care for webcams.
So... yeah. I need a laptop for school. Gotta be art friendly (macs are). But also must be something I can work with for reports and communications (PC's- which is what I am used to).
If you're savvy on the latest laptops, a few tips would be nice. Thanks!

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! ^___^
Yeah, two weeks late, but who cares?!
This is the first time I've really felt like it was a new year. The year transition is always a weird time for me. It just seems to come so quickly, now! It's the end of most of the festivities and I usually find January to be the bleakest month of the year. 8/ Anyone else feel this way? We take down all the beautiful Christmas stuff, and then it really IS the dead of winter. We don't get a spark of YAY until Valentines Day. o_. Which is part of why the end of the year is so weird for me- everything just starts all over again before you can really think about it. Am I
Sooo, I was reading the Twilight series.....
And I had to stop. @_@ (Note, this is more a review on why I stopped reading Breaking Dawn-- spoilers abound. You've been warned o_O )
....I had to stop reading this. Well, actually, I've been listening to the audio book since I am too busy to read for fun, so technically, I had to stop listening to this. @_@ I'm sorry but the whole imprinting on children thing.... makes me want to retch. My stomach lurches just thinking about it. I know, I know, it's the whole Protector deal but.... still- it'd eventually be like marrying your uncle or something. o_O Just... Geh. My issues were this was more like an epilogue story. There were no villians to
I LIIIIIIIIVE! O_o
Hoooooooooboy.
It's been a while since I updated, so I thought I would. Just to let you all know I'm alive and kicking. :-P
So! Updates in my life? Starting a new semester at school, and I'm OH SO CLOSE to getting a B.F.A in Illustration! Kinda ironic for the lack of uploads, right? ^^; I actually do have a portfolio going, but not much time to photograph my work and put it up here. :/ They make me work big-I wish I had a bigger scanner.... Anyway, I -do- plan on putting some school-art up. GOOD NEWS is I'm finally getting more inspired to draw for fun! :D I haven't been lately because of--- a lot of things. o_O But it's coming back to me.
You know you're getting on in age when...
Yep. I've been 23 for a little over a month now. And as time has passed, I've found more and more little reminders of my age.
You know you're getting on in age when ideal birthday/Christmas/whatever gifts involve things like DENTIST TRIPS (Lislis no has health care anymore :( ), and things you can use to make food with like blenders (I wanna make milkshakes, smoothies and ice blends! :9 Blame Brae for teaching me. :P) ) and other goodies rather than things like manga, books, and DVDs. o.O
Yeeup. Growing up. Gettin' old.
OH! I'm learning more and more cooking tricks everyday. :3 I can make stir-frys, pasta, veggie burgers, all sortsa fun st

I have a laptop but it's two years old and came with Windows XP and I had no idea Windows came out with another version...xD Wish I could be more of help, my dad's the one who knows about computers and such (he's the one who got me my laptop) Most computers hold art programs (so I think...)
As for AVM software, ummm I think you can use windows movie maker, and that came with Windows XP, but I'm not sure what this new Windows thing will have now, probably the same or it'll come with a better version, lol. As for putting one together, I have no idea...
Good luck finding your perfect laptop
